SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Permanent Position

35 hours per week, Term time only

Grade HC4 £17,391 to £18,319 FTE

Required as soon as possible

Our current science laboratory technician has been promoted to become a senior technician in another local school. Therefore an exciting opportunity exists to recruit a laboratory technician with experience working within this field. This post requires initiative, flexibility, patience and the ability to react to the requirements of the teaching team within the science department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of stock solutions and maintaining glassware in classrooms
  • Preparing practicals prior to lessons and delivering to the classrooms
  • General up-keep of Science Technician laboratory
  • Carrying out regular health and safety checks on laboratories, preparation rooms and stores and providing technical support and health and safety advice to staff and students
  • Implementing procedures and regulations involving safe disposal of waste material

To apply you will need

  • Experience as a Science Technician, preferably within a school environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Good communication skills.

FEDERATION SITE MANAGER

Permanent Variable Contract – 0.6 to 1.0 FTE

Grade HC5 – £18,672 to £20,541 pro rata

Aylestone School is a co-educational 11-16 school, located in the picturesque Cathedral City of Hereford, adjacent to the Herefordshire Colleges' campus for Further Education, and 10 minutes’ walk from the City railway station. Withington Primary school is a small, rural school with under 80 pupils and is a few miles into the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. Broadlands Primary school is adjacent to Aylestone School and has around 180 students.

Our current Site Manager is taking partial retirement in June. Therefore an exciting opportunity exists to recruit an experienced Site Manager with excellent hands on property management skills to share the duties, potentially leading to a full time role. This post requires initiative, flexibility, patience and the ability to react to unexpected demands and work under pressure. You will oversee all site management requirements for three schools and directly support the Federation Bursar in the safe administration of the schools. We would like to hear from you if:-
